Please note: The Real Estate Agency of Oregon in 2009 has made changes that will go into affect Jan. 1, 2010... at that time, our titles will be Principal Broker. Same service, different title. Here's hoping you have a wonderful day.
What is a Sole Practitioner Real Estate Broker?
A little history:
July 1, 2002, all Oregon salesperson licenses were converted to temporary associate broker licenses. The temporary associate brokers completed an Associate Broker Transition Course (ABTC) before June 30, 2005. Upon completing the ABTC and submitting proof to the Agency, the temporary associate broker license was converted to a broker license.
The original salesperson licensees receiving their Oregon broker license as a Sole Practitioner Real Estate Broker needs to meet two more requirements before working as a sole practitioner: (1) the licensee must have at least three years of active, licensed experience, either in Oregon and/or another state), and (2) they must pass the real estate broker license exam.
In a Nutshell:
The Sole Practitioner Real Estate Broker is an experienced Broker/Real Estate Agent/Realtor®. Each implements their own business practices and services giving the consumer even more individualized service.
